Tax Credit Extended for Some!
Tuesday, 04 May 2010 05:01
The $8,000 tax credit has been extended until April 30, 2011 for Service Members. Due to our service members being deployed and not able to take advantage of the tax credit, service members will get an extra year. Those receiving the tax credit must live in the home for three years or will have to pay the credit back. Service members also get a break here as well. If service members must move do to the government/military, they will not have to repay the credit.
The income limits still apply to service members of $125,000 for single taxpayers and $225,000 for married. For those that do not qualify for the $8,000 tax credit, the $6,500 tax credit is still an option.
